A REGULAR MEE= TING of the 2010-11 Board of Directors met at St. Mary’s-In-The-Valley Episcopal Church, Corner of San Vicente Rd. and 12^th St., Ramona= , CA 92065. The meeting was called to or= der at 5:58 p.m. by President Elect Bob Hailey.aile.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS: Motion made by Darrell Beck seconded by Walter Ainslie, and c= arried without dissention, that the board minutes of a regular meeting held on 04/02/11 be approved as presented. =

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: None

SECRETARY’S CORRESPONDENCE & REPORT:

1. Submitted Annual Election Report.

2. Reinstated Dave M= cGhee into our membership effective April 2, 2011.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Reviewed and filed as a permanent par= t of these minutes.

1. &n= bsp; Reviewed Reconciled Treasurer’s Financial Report for April 2011.

&nbs= p;

2.<= span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'> Discussed mid-year fina= ncial status and told us that we are approximately $9,500 short of that budgeted = for foundation income. This is partially caused on our approximate $5,000 shortfall on money made at the recent Kiwanis/Rotary Mus= ic Fest, and could become somewhat more should we not have the budged Wine Fest fundraiser. He suggested that= a committee of three meet to discuss possible cuts for this year and recommendations for establishing future budgets. He also requested that board membe= rs look at budgeted items and give him their recommendations regarding cuts to individual line items. (Richard Wade, Jim Cooper, and Jessica Hickman are t= hose recommended to serve on this committee)

4. &n= bsp; Ellen Deuel has completed the audit of 2010-11 finances. The completed audit will be presen= ted at our June board meeting.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: (Report to Kiwanis Internationa= l by Secretary Required)

Community Service: Chairman Kelley Bayne didn’t = submit a report. However, Walter Ain= slie reported the following completed project.

1. Entered a team in the “Cancer Society Relay for Life” and provided Kiwanis members for

set-up, clean-up= , and cooking. (8 Kiwanians, 24 hou= rs plus, $1740 funds raised,)

Human & Spiritual Values:<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> Chairman Michael Harrison didn’t submit a report.

Inter-club: Chairman Bob Hailey reported that = four member attended the April Division Council Meeting, thus qualifying as an interclub with the host club, Kiwanis Club of Del Mar.

Young Children Priority One: Chairman Mary Halliday reported the following:

1. Made 50 Pediatric Trauma Dolls whi= ch will be delivered to the “Kiwanis Miracle Mile

    of Quarters” to be held at the Children’s Hospital on May 7, 2011.&= nbsp; (1 Kiwanian – 0 cost)



2. Made and sent 5 Pediatric Trauma D= oll to Division 37 Lt. Governor for further delivery to a

     Kiwanis family involved in a terrible traffic accident.&n= bsp; (1 Kiwanian – 0 cost)

Youth Services: Chairman Walter reported 1 hour men= toring students of the Ramona High School Robotics Program. (1 Kiwanian – 0 cost)

OTHER COMMITTEES:

Membership & Growth:   Chairman Pat Bell didn’t provide a report.

Publicity: Chairman Tom Taylor briefed us, and provided copies to the secretary, on the numerous club activities which appeared in local publications during February.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

$500 Grant Request for James Dukes Elementary School&#= 8217;s Art Program: Jim Coop= er made the motion that this request be tabled for now and be revisited in July 2011 by the 2011-12 incoming board. Motion seconded by Darrell Beck, and carried without dissention.

Kiwanis Road Sign: Jim Cooper aske= d what the current status is regarding installing a Kiwanis sign on the community service organizations display located on the highway coming in from Julian. Charlie Teichert said= he had previously told the board that would contact the owner of the property = on which the display is located to obtain permission for installation of such a sign, however has not yet done so. Charlie will follow up.

Termination of Jeff Funk’s Leave of Absence: Jeff requested that his leave abse= nce be terminated this date. Motion = so made by Jim Cooper, seconded by Tom Taylor, and carried without dissention.=

Kevin Bell for 2011-12 Club & Foundation Secretary: Motion made by Darrell Beck, seconded by Jim Cooper, and carried without dissention that Kevin Bell fill= the secretary position for Kiwanis year 2011-12. (note: Voted on by those present w= ho will be serving as directors for Kiwanis year 2011-12.)

Rodeo Parade: Jim Cooper asked if we had any tho= ughts regarding our possibly entering a float/etc. in the upcoming rodeo parade.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> Charlie Teichert said that he and = his wife will be driving their car in the parade and Pow-Wow-Pow-Wow signs will= be prominently displayed on the car. No other action taken on this item.
