Ramona Kiwanis Club Hosts DCM
This Saturday we traveled to Escondido to host the monthly DCM. Our President
Bob Hailey opened the meeting by having the usual functions performed. Darrell Beck led the pledge; Walter Ainslie performed the invocation
and Tom Taylor "led" the attendees in an old Ray Charles favorite, "America the Beautiful".

Lt. Gov.
Warren Sargent introduced the guest speaker Ingrid Mourey. Ingrid is the Executive Director of the PoVa Therapeutic riding Center
in Poway. She presented a touching and inspiring description of the genesis and purpose of the ranch. She showed several films which
high lighted what she was talking about. She emphasized that the families using the facility are not charged which means donations
and volunteers are needed to maintain the operation.Click HERE to see Ingrid's film.

Thanks:
Thanks to Mary Halliday and Paul Tarr for the bagel, donuts and fruit plates. The "goodie" table was the star. Thanks
To Kevin Bell for the coffee; the lifeblood of early risers. Thanks to all who were able to make it and assisted in the set up and
clean up.
Problems:
The various speakers, for the most part did not use the microphone which was available. For some reason the
mike is off to one side which forces the speaker to drift away from a prepared text, if any to speak into the mike. Placement at the
center of the podium would fix this. Hint, hint.
Musings:
I believe our mission was a success.
